Abandoned Fire Station

Abandoned Fire Station

We were approached by one of our clients and asked to come up with a proposal to secure an old abandoned fire station in South London. Following a comprehensive security survey, which included open source intelligence gathering, we quickly determined that the use of the current security solution, one which involved the deployment of one security officer 24/7, was essentially pointless. The size of the site coupled with lack of clear lines of sight, made the use of a single officer not only ineffectual, but also dangerous.

Our Proposal:

Our advice, based on nearly two decades of securing similar sites was straightforward, lose the manpower and instead utilise cutting edge technology. We installed nine analytical cameras throughout the site, coupled with audio intervention units, all networked and monitored by our 24/7 monitoring station. We also installed remotely activated locks on the doors so we could provide controlled access to contractors and client personnel visiting the site. In summary, we secured the site, provided 24/7 monitoring and more effectively controlled access, whilst also saving our client nearly £100k over a 12-month period!
